Sheriff's Office investigates fatal crash involving motorcycle, automobile at S. Springwater and Bakers Ferry Roads
On Friday, Sept. 10, 2010 at 7:51 a.m., Clackamas County Sheriff's Office deputies and Clackamas Fire District #1 rescue personnel responded to the report of a crash involving a motorcycle and a motor vehicle.
This crash occurred at S. Springwater Road and S. Bakers Ferry Road in Oregon City.
This crash resulted in the death of the lone male adult motorcyclist — who died at the scene after colliding with the automobile in this intersection.
The motorcyclist's spouse was reportedly following behind the motorcyclist in a separate vehicle and witnessed her husband's crash.
Members of the Trauma Intervention Program (TIP) have been summoned to the scene to assist with the emotional issues of those on-scene.
The Sheriff's Office Crash Reconstruction and Forensic Technicians (CRAFT) and Clackamas County Deputy Medical Examiner were alerted and responded to investigate.
Sheriff's Office personnel on-scene reported that this traffic crash would require a considerable amount of time to investigate — alerting motorists to seek an alternate route to avoid this crash scene.
Road closures were identified as:
* S. Springwater Road at Gerber Road
* S. Springwater Road at Hatton Road
* S. Bakers Ferry Road at Gerber Road
Deputies anticipated a three-hour delay while the fatal traffic crash was being investigated.
At 1:20 p.m., deputies on-scene reported that this portion of South Springwater Road and South Bakers Ferry Road was clear and reopened to normal traffic.
