Encinitas, California – Critical Injury Motorcycle Crash at Via Cantebria and Garden View Road

On December 9th, 2011, at about 5:33 p.m., deputies responded to a radio call of a traffic collision involving a vehicle versus a motorcycle, with the motorcyclist down in the roadway.

The incident occurred on Via Cantebria just south of the intersection with Garden View Road.

The motorcycle was traveling south on Via Cantebria at around 40 miles per hour when a vehicle pulled out of a private driveway.

The motorcycle broadsided the vehicle and the motorcyclist was thrown from his vehicle.

The motorcyclist sustained life threatening injuries and was transported to Sharp Memorial trauma center via Mercy Air.

Encinitas Traffic units and the on call S.T.A.R. (Sheriff’s Traffic Accident Reconstruction) team responded to investigate.
