Two People Killed in Lancaster County Crash
(Lincoln, NE)-Two people were killed and another person injured in a two vehicle crash at the intersection of Highway 79 and West Raymond Road in Lancaster County.
Around 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 07, 2011, a 1999 Lincoln Town Car was northbound on Highway 79 when it was struck broadside on the passenger side by a delivery truck. The delivery truck was westbound on West Raymond Road.
Gary A. Bornemeier, 66, Lincoln died at the scene of the crash. Bornemeier was a backseat passenger in the car. Front seat passenger, Richard L. Bornemeier, 69, Lincoln, was ejected from the vehicle. He was transported by Raymond Fire and Rescue to BryanLGH-West in Lincoln where he died of his injuries. The driver of the car, Pamela S. Bornemeier, 64, Lincoln was also transported by ambulance to BryanLGH-West where she was admitted for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the delivery truck, Steven J. Smyth, 35, LaVista, was not injured.
Seat belts were not in use by either passenger in the car. The driver of the car and the delivery truck were using restraints.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
