Colorado Man Killed in I-80 Crash
(North Platte, NE)- A Northglenn, Colorado man has been identified as the driver of a pickup who was killed in a Sunday, March 27, 2011 crash on I-80 in Lincoln County.
Adam D. Broderick, 27, Northglenn, CO was the driver of an eastbound pickup, which crossed the median and struck a westbound semi-tractor trailer nearly head-on, around 2:17 a.m., Sunday.
The pickup and the semi came to rest in the river bottom in the median, where the pickup caught fire.
Broderick was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the semi, who was from Nevada was treated and released from a North Platte hospital.
Troopers investigating the crash say the weather likely played a factor, with light freezing drizzle falling at the time of the accident.
The crash forced the closure of the westbound lanes of I-80 from Maxwell to North Platte for approximately nine hours
