DUI Testing in Vermont
If an officer of the law suspects that you are driving under the influence you may be asked to provide an evidentiary breath test to determing Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC).
The Vermont implied consent laws deems that all drivers have given their consent to provide a sample of blood, breath or other bodily fluid to determine if the driver has exceeded the legal limit for impaired driving.
If a driver refuses to take a DUI Test their driver license will be automatically suspended for a minimum of (6) six months.
Ignition Interlock Laws In Vermont
A person convicted of a Vermont DUI for the first time after 30 days of their initial driver license suspension.
For a second Vermont Drunk Driving Conviction a driver may not be elegible for an ignition interlock device until 90 days of their driver license suspension has passed.
In the case of a third or future Vermont DUI conviction the driver must wait a period of (1) One year before they may apply to the State of Vermont Ignition Interlock program.
